Rokhsana was appointed the Chief Executive of the Maimonides Interfaith Foundation in April 2013. Working closely with the Chairman, Rokhsana is tasked with formulating and delivering the Foundation’s strategic objectives to ensure that it maintains its position as one of the world’s leading and influential organisations in the area of inter-religious and intercultural dialogue.
With over 20 years high-level experience in public policy, government relations, research, communications and corporate affairs, she has strong policy expertise in education, inter-religious and inter-cultural dialogue, integration and cohesion, counter-terrorism, development issues, equalities and human rights.
Rokhsana is committed to ensuring that the Foundation helps drive discussions around the key issues and challenges relating to the role of faith, religion and pluralism in the world today; alongside ensuring that its Interfaith Explorers project is taken to the global stage.
A former political journalist and an expert communications professional, Rokhsana has strong links with public policy makers, officials and politicians, public authority representatives, academics, journalists, non-governmental organisations and governmental institutions at local, national, and international levels. She has advised both the UK government and the European Commission, particularly on Muslim communities.
In June 2009, Rokhsana was honoured with the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for services to Black and Minority Communities in the UK.
